The rooftop was conceived as an extended canopy. Capitalising on the partially covered rooftop that offers spectacular views of the city, we carefully planned and provided the best views for the outdoor bar and a more enclosed indoor area to create a cosy buffet lounge. The contrast of the two different functions was articulated with the exploration of materials and textures.  Travertine walls and carpet floors were used to creating the timeless hospitable appearance for the lounges.

 

On the other hand, patina metal wall panels and dark timber decks for the bar created an eclectic aged and masculine look.

However, the two spaces visually resonated with each other through the consistent use of timber slat screens. These feature screens demarcates the spaces for adequate privacy whilst keeping the visual openness throughout the spaces.
